Abrazo : Montréal, ville de tango par Caroline HayeurFrom February 26 to April 11, 2021

Abrazo

Abrazo is the result of a collaboration between Montreal artists Caroline Hayeur and D. Kimm. The former is a professional photographer who specializes in documentary work and contemporary portraiture. D. Kimm is an avant-garde, indisciplinary artist known for her experimental work, as well as a former tango dancer. Through the exhibition Abrazo (roughly translated as embrace’), they lead the viewer on an intimate journey through the world of tango.

By combining photographic installations and immersive video projections, the dynamic duo offers a close up and personal view of this dance universe, far removed from the usual cliched images. Captivating, rhythmic tango music is the backdrop for discovering the subtle signals between the dancers – from Buenos Aires to Montreal – allowing viewers to see this seductive social dance from an entirely different perspective.

This exhibition was produced in collaboration with the creative production company Les Filles électriques.
