AN EXCEPTIONAL SHOWCASE FOR THE VISUAL ARTS

The Yvonne L. Bombardier Exhibition Centre is located on the first floor of the Yvonne L. Bombardier Cultural Centre in Valcourt, in the Eastern Townships. Encouraging different modes of artistic creation, the Centre presents 6 to 10 temporary exhibitions each year, divided into 3 distinct periods, each lasting approximately 3 months. A multifunctional mezzanine and a magnificent park surrounding the Cultural Center also host the work of professional artists.

MISSION

The Yvonne L. Bombardier Exhibition Centre presents, democratizes and studies the work of artists specializing in the visual arts, with the aim of awaking the curiosity of its audiences and stimulating their creativity through temporary exhibitions and cultural and educational programs.

Promoting the visual arts and making them accessible to as many people as possible is one of the goals pursued by the Exhibition Centre. To achieve this, in addition to presenting a variety of exhibitions, it organizes cultural mediation activities that enable people to enrich their knowledge of the arts and enjoy an experience that stimulates their creativity.

Familiarizing young people with the visual arts is another of the Exhibition Centre’s mandates. Educational programs are therefore developed, enabling several hundred young people each year to develop a critical eye and experiment with different artistic techniques. Also, these programs take into account the academic skills targeted by the ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur.

Admission to exhibitions is free.
