What you need to know about the Cultural Centre in the red zone

Having trouble keeping up with the ever-changing COVID-19 measures at the Cultural Centre? Here are the most recent updates.

Will the Library stay open in the red zone?

The Library will remain partially open. The bookshelves will be off-limits, in accordance with the public health guidelines issued by the Government of Québec to combat COVID-19. However, you can still use the contactless loan service, available by appointment.

How do I borrow and pick up library documents using the contactless loan service?

First, search the Library’s online catalogue for the document titles you’re interested in. You can send us your requests by email at bylb@fjab.qc.ca, or call us at 450 532-2250. You can also reserve books online, directly in your member account.

Then, make an appointment to pick up your documents at the Cultural Centre’s secondary entrance, located next to the Library parking lot. Pickup schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Can I go into the Cultural Centre?

No. You can only pick up documents at the Cultural Centre’s secondary entrance, next to the Library parking lot, and you must have an appointment.

How do I return books?

Books can be returned via the book drop located outside, accessible 7 days a week.

Are masks mandatory?

Yes. Wearing a mask is mandatory for everyone aged 10 years and older.

Who can use the Library?

The Library is for residents of the Valcourt region. Membership is free for residents of the City of Valcourt. Starting January 1, 2021, membership will be free for everyone residing in the Valcourt Canton. Residents from other municipalities can use the Library for a small yearly fee: children $5, adults $15, families $25.

Is the exhibition centre open?

No. The exhibition centre is currently closed. The team is setting up the Kaleidoscope exhibition, which is slated to open in January 2021 (depending on the public health guidelines in effect in January).
