A multidisciplinary artist, Nathalie Trépanier spent 15 years creating projects in the world of visual arts and for the theatre. To start with, she created furniture and lamps with salvaged materials such as driftwood, boat parts, iron and brass. Little by little, her creations became oriented towards fashioning whimsical sculptures of characters who are often involved in social issues. Trépanier’s works are a mix of discarded objects and recycled materials, which under her capable hands, take on a brand new life! The artist’s interpretation of society’s overconsumption, touched with the human soul, earned her the 2014 Coup de coeur prize at the Salon de la sculpture in Montreal.
