Words and how they are related to images or objects dominate Lucie Duval‘s artistic approach. Their presence or conversely their absence, is what conveys the meaning. Sometimes the words charm. Sometimes they grab the attention of the viewer. Sometimes they hold a certain promise…. Or they contradict one another, or they lie, or they entrap. Through her installations, the artist conveys just how effective language and art can be, in social and societal causes.

The Textures exhibition showcases works (among others) that were part of the Langage ment (Language lies) that was shown for the first time in Paris and which has never before been seen in Canada.
