Quebec artist Luc Pelletier, whose sculptures are imbued with meaning and the kind of intangible details normally attributed to archeologists, has put together his latest show entitled Comme l’arbre, je suis. Comprised of seven series – Duo, Fleurs, Monolithe, At The Funeral, Inner Fire, Mono p’pa rental, Potential – the exhibits are a collection of woodcarvings, poems and installations (including a replica of the artist’s studio) inside and outside the Cultural Centre.

Pelletier skillfully highlights what we can learn from other living things, juxtaposing what is unique with what we have in common and showing ways in which human beings and nature compliment one another. His poetry dwells on brotherhood, suffering, serenity – personal and yet universal – and inevitably give one food for thought.
