The treasures of the Mediterranean, the majestic landscapes of China and the peaceful beauty of sanctuaries await you. From May 5 – September 1, 2008, watercolorist Josée Perreault reveals the secrets of her trips around the world at the Yvonne L. Bombardier Cultural Centre. This dream exhibition showcases the 20-year career of an Eastern Townships artist, who paints in an innovative fashion.

Josée Perreault visits some of the most beautiful nations on earth and transforms her experience of life in those countries into dazzling paintings filled with light and rich, vibrant colors. « In my work, I strive to create a certain sense of place, to transcend the mundane and to evoke strong emotions », explains this passionate artist.

This artistic journey, documented in some 50 creations, underlines the pure poetry of watercolor as a medium, especially through the unique pictorial approach developed by the talented painter. Her large-format works, showcased in this exhibition, are painted on paper, mounted on a stretcher frame, then varnished. You can also listen to evocative sounds and stories from Josée Perreault’s journey, recorded on site, while she was in Asia.
