From his bird’s eye view in mid-air, photographer Guy Lavigueur combines colors, shapes and textures. Seen through his lens and his unique vision, they become vibrant, striking artworks. His lofty vantage point allows him to capture the changing face of nature in all its grandeur. One feature after the other in quick succession – rivers, fields, oceans, mountains, plains and forests – then suddenly the traces mankind has left on the Earth when trying to harness its power. Things of beauty such as architectural wonders, bridges, scenic roads and cultivated fields and things of harsh ugliness – mines, oil sands, erosion and the byproducts of man’s meddling. They make your head spin! In spite of the physical distance between the photographer and his subject, his art, which is beautiful but at the same time political in nature, leaves a strong impact on the viewer.
