ADAPTED SERVICES

Books for Babies

The Books for Baby program offers parents with children under one year old a free reader kit when they register their babies for membership at a public library.

The Books for Baby program is available across Quebec in participating libraries, and is led by the Association des bibliothèques publiques du Québec (Quebec Public Library Association). For more information, visit the Books for Baby website.

Biblio-SantéBiblio-santé

Biblio-Santé is an information service for caregivers led by the Quebec Public Library Association. There are more than 580 participating libraries across Quebec.

Biblio-Santé consists of a series of thematic booklets designed to provide caregivers with information on a variety of illnesses and helpful topics. Each booklet contains a list of organizations, relevant websites and suggestions for books and films.

The Yvonne L. Bombardier Library has the entire series of thematic booklets available for loan to members who wish to learn more about these resources.

Accès-livres

Accès-livres is a monthly book transportation service that allows the Yvonne L. Bombardier Library and its partner schools to benefit from a rich and diverse selection of documents suitable for all ages and educational levels.

Books are delivered once a month from September to May. Communication is simplified through a pickup/delivery schedule that the school receives at the beginning of the school year. A designated member of the school staff notifies teachers when it’s time to return the books. Then, the documents are placed in the bins ready for pickup by the transportation service.

Would you like to request books on a specific theme for the next delivery? Contact us!

Consult the School Groups section to learn more about our school services.

Biblio à domicile (Home delivery service)

Biblio à domicile is a home delivery pilot project developed by the Library in collaboration with the Centre d’action bénévole Valcourt et Région. The project makes the Library’s collections (books, magazines, films, puzzles, etc.) accessible to people with reduced mobility, who are convalescing, who have a loss of autonomy or who need home support, in particular seniors. In this first phase, the pilot project is available to residents of Valcourt and the Canton de Valcourt.

Home deliveries are made on the first Thursday of each month, in the morning. The service is free. Contact the Library to try out the service: 450-532-2250 ext. 34 or ccylb@fjab.qc.ca.
