Originally from Baie-Comeau on the North Shore, the young sculptor, Maude Bernier Chabot, won the Yvonne L. Bombardier Graduate Scholarship in the Visual Arts in 2015. The same year, she completed her academic curriculum in the fine arts at Concordia University. Chabot’s works evoke the blurred boundaries between the built and living worlds. Choosing mainly organic subjects created with industrial methods and materials, the artist strives to depict natural objects stopping dead in their tracks, before they disappear.
